At Curious Cubs Toys, I am a mum of two lovely boys, both of primary age. I qualified as a speech and language therapist first and worked like this for a while. After having my firstborn, I retrained as a teacher so that I could work in Shrewsbury. I trained and worked as a preschool nursery teacher and completely loved working with this age group. I loved setting up the classroom and outdoor space for the day and having such fun with the children whilst they learned without really knowing it. After my youngest son was born my whole world changed. I had various difficulties from birth, from sleep difficulties, tongue-tie, food allergies, and oral aversion, everything felt extremely hard. By the time he was 1 year old, I knew that his development was not where it should be (although all little ones are different) and by 2 years old he had been diagnosed with Autism and Global Developmental Delay. This was an emotional time for me, I knew deep down that he would likely get both of that diagnoses but hearing them.
